The Pursuit Of Happiness

Josh Holland's gallery work pays homage to the pixels, puppets and periodicals of his childhood, documenting the social issues and pop culture imagery of his generation. Wielding a fresh and passionate approach, he juxtaposes these beloved childhood images with the revelations of his young adult life. The result is an amalgam of philosophy, emotion and personal narrative that challenges the viewer to decode the image. Like many of the artists that inspired his progression, the use of cartoon imagery is a vessel for greater conceptual complexity.
